How it works

Three steps to a stronger pelvic floor

No experience needed, and nothing to insert or wear. You pick the session; the jellyfish shows the movement.

Pick your session

Open the app and choose 1, 3 or 5 minutes at Beginner, Medium or Advanced: nine programs in all. No setup, no questionnaire, and one minute genuinely counts.

Choose 1, 3 or 5 minutes and your level

Follow the direction

The jellyfish’s bell draws up and in as you lift, and opens as you release, the same way the pelvic floor should move, so you see exactly what the lift should look like: up and in, never down. Gentle haptics land on each lift, reinforcing the direction even with the screen turned away or hidden.

Let every effort count

Kegelia records sessions, minutes and levels with no streaks and no penalties. Stop after a few lifts and it still counts. Watch the chart climb week by week.

Every session is recorded, even a short one

What is the Kegelia app?

Kegelia is an iOS app for Kegel exercises, also called pelvic floor training. A glowing jellyfish shows you which way the muscle should move, so you follow the movement instead of counting it in your head: its bell draws up and in as you lift and opens as you release, with gentle haptics on every lift. You get nine programs, three levels across three session lengths, starting at one quiet minute. It shows the movement; it doesn’t measure the muscle. Who is behind Kegelia

Is the Kegelia app free?

Kegelia is free to use with no time limit: the one-minute beginner session stays free. Kegelia PRO unlocks the other eight programs, which add the longer sessions and the higher levels, for $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year, and the yearly plan starts with a seven-day free trial. All the product facts

What are Kegel exercises?

Kegel exercises are small, repeated lifts of the pelvic floor, the sling of muscle that supports your bladder and bowel. You draw those muscles up and in, hold for a moment, then fully relax, usually in short sets. Health services such as the NHS recommend them for building everyday pelvic floor strength. How do I know if I am doing Kegel exercises correctly?

A correct Kegel draws gently up and in, as if lifting away from the seat, while you keep breathing normally. The common mistake is the opposite, bearing down, which can make leaks worse, and because the movement is invisible, nothing tells you which way you went. Kegelia shows the direction: the jellyfish’s bell lifts as you lift, so the right movement is in front of you on every rep, not just described. Learn more: am I doing Kegel exercises correctly?

How often should I do Kegel exercises?

Cleveland Clinic guidance suggests working up to about three short sets spread across the day, and the NHS describes sets of around ten squeezes. Consistency matters more than volume: a short daily session beats an occasional long one. Kegelia app sessions run 1, 3 or 5 minutes, so a daily habit fits a busy day. How long does it take for Kegel exercises to work?

With regular practice, Cleveland Clinic says results can appear after six to eight weeks, and the NHS notes it may take a few months. The Kegelia app’s progress screen counts every session and minute, so the quiet weeks of work stay visible. Learn more: a realistic Kegel timeline

Do Kegel exercises work for men?

For bladder control, yes: after prostate surgery, guidelines say clinicians should offer pelvic floor training, though the trial evidence on how much it adds is mixed. The evidence for sexual function is limited, and erectile difficulty belongs with a doctor first; pelvic pain needs an assessment, not more squeezing. Kegelia works the same for every body, with the same programs for everyone, no separate tracks by gender and no device to insert, which is why it fits men as well as women. Can I do Kegel exercises during pregnancy or after birth?

Pelvic floor exercises are commonly recommended during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Check with your midwife or doctor first, especially after a complicated delivery. Kegelia’s one-minute sessions and pressure-free progress fit the newborn months gently. Learn more: Kegel exercises after pregnancy

Can Kegel exercises help with bladder leakage?

Strengthening the pelvic floor is a widely recommended, exercise-based approach to everyday bladder control, and it’s often the first thing clinicians suggest for leaks that come with a cough, a laugh or a sneeze. It builds and supports; it doesn’t cure a medical condition. The Kegelia app shows each lift and release for that daily practice. If you have pelvic pain, a feeling of heaviness or a bulge, or trouble letting the muscles relax, see a pelvic floor specialist before you start: a tight floor needs release, not more squeezing. Do I need any equipment for Kegel exercises?

No. The Kegelia app uses on-screen guidance and gentle iPhone haptics, so there’s nothing to buy, wear or insert. Secret Mode hides the controls and leaves only the jellyfish, so you can train privately anywhere and still see which way to move. Learn more: what a good Kegel app needs

What makes Kegelia different from other Kegel apps?

Three things set it apart. It needs no device, so it works the same for women and men. It’s built to be kind: no streaks, no penalties, and short attempts still count. And rather than only timing the exercise, it shows you the direction: what the lift should look like, up and in, not bearing down. It shows the movement; it doesn’t measure the muscle.
