The short version

Kegelia is designed with your privacy in mind. Your exercise data stays on your device. We don't create accounts, we don't require sign-up, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

Who We Are

Kegelia ("we", "our", "us") is a pelvic floor exercise app for iOS.

This Privacy Policy covers both the Kegelia iOS app and our website at kegelia.app. Where a section applies only to the app or only to the website, it says so.

Data That Stays on Your Device

Your core data, including exercise history, programs, progress, and settings, is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not access this data and it is not transmitted off your device. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.

Health and Sensitive Data

Kegelia does not collect, store, or transmit any health or medical data to external servers. All exercise-related information remains exclusively on your device. We do not integrate with Apple HealthKit or any health data platforms.

Data We Collect

We use a small number of third-party services to improve app stability and understand how features are used. These services may collect limited data as described below. We process this data based on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and, for subscription processing, on the basis of contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Amplitude (Usage Analytics)

We use Amplitude to understand how the app's features are used, so we can improve them. Amplitude records in-app events, such as which screens and exercises you use, together with a device identifier generated for analytics. This information is not linked to your name or email, it is not used for advertising, and it does not identify you personally.

Firebase Crashlytics (Crash & Diagnostic Reports)

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information when the app runs into an error. This helps us find and fix bugs. The data may include device type, operating system version, and technical details of the crash.

In-App Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit framework. We do not collect or store any payment information. All purchase data is managed by Apple according to their privacy practices.

Website Analytics

Google Analytics is optional on kegelia.app. We load it only after you choose “Allow analytics,” and we rely on that consent as our legal basis where applicable. We use it to improve site content and the path to the App Store. We store your choice in local storage for 180 days. That record contains only your choice and the time it was saved.

After consent, Google Analytics may set first-party _ga cookies and use pseudonymous client and session identifiers. We measure visits to neutral page groups, reading progress, App Store link clicks, and the site language. Google Analytics also provides approximate location, screen resolution, and browser and device information. We do not send exact page paths or titles, inbound referrers, campaign values, URL queries or fragments, names, email addresses, health or medical data, or advertising identifiers. Although the shared property permits advertising personalization at property level, the website always denies advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization; Google Signals and URL passthrough are also off. In the account-level data-sharing settings, Google products and services is off. Modeling contributions and business insights, Technical support, and Recommendations for your business are on. Google states that modeling uses aggregated data, support representatives may access account data to resolve reported issues, and recommendations may use Analytics account, usage, and configuration data. Google provides the Analytics service and acts as a data processor; its data-processing terms have been accepted for this account. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area using safeguards described in the Google Privacy Policy. Links to Google’s data-processing terms and international-transfer information appear under Third-Party Services.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't create user accounts or require sign-up
  • We don't collect your name, email address, or phone number
  • We do not use data for cross-app advertising or profiling
  • We don't sell or rent your data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising
  • We don't display advertisements
  • We don't use the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • We don't request access to your camera, microphone, or precise location

Children's Privacy

Kegelia is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete such information.

Data Retention

Deleting the app removes its local data. Amplitude analytics and Firebase crash data follow their respective retention policies. The Google Analytics property retains event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. Reset on new activity is on, so the retention period for a pseudonymous user identifier resets with each new event and may continue while that user remains active. Google deletes affected data through its monthly process after the retention period, while standard aggregated reports are not affected by this setting. First-party website analytics cookies expire after 60 days and do not refresh on later page loads. The local storage consent record expires after 180 days.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access or delete your personal data, correct it, object to or restrict processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent. Use “Cookie settings” in the site footer to change your choice. Withdrawal stops future website analytics and clears the _ga cookies under our control; it does not affect processing that occurred while your consent was valid. Because Kegelia has no website accounts and does not send your name or email to Google Analytics, we may need your Analytics client identifier to locate a request. Contact us to exercise your rights or ask how to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Third-Party Services

The third-party services we use have their own privacy policies:
